Beach / Seaside Theme Festival Wedding Stationery – Last year Carl & Kelly got in touch with Wedfest looking for us to design and create them some Beach Festival Themed Wedding Stationery for their beach wedding at Mawgan Porth Beach, Cornwall in September of last year. As the wedding was taking place at the end of the summer they wanted to call it Summers End Wedfest 2014.
The couple live in Cornwall which is famous for being at the seaside, its beaches of of course surfing so they wanted these elements to feature in their wedding stationery, but also they wanted to have the feel of a party as although it was a beach side wedding it was also going to be a festival themed wedding so with this in mind we set to work.
The first thing we worked on was the wedding save the date cards. These have already featured previously on this blog. This was the beginning of the design style that would be carried throughout the rest of the wedding stationery. The save the dates feature the Summers End Wedfest logo large at the top with the couples names in smaller text above this with festival style bunting either side of the names. Below is the location name Mawgan Porth Beach, Cornwall and the after party venue name which is The Retorrick Mill. At the bottom is the save the date text and the wedding date which is all sitting on a sunny beach background with the sea splashing onto the beach and a surfboard and starfish in the foreground.
Next up to work on was the actual wedding invitations themselves. The couple wanted festival ticket style wedding invites with a perforated RSVP card so guests could easily reply to the invitation. Following on from the initial design of the save the date cards in the wedding invites we show more of a later in the day atmosphere with an early evening sky turning from light blue to dark, with some fireworks in the sky and sail boats and rocks in the distance. At the forefront of the wedding invitation design there is a silhouette of a crowd of people dancing with a band playing to them on the beach with the sea just behind them to represent the beach party vibe the couple wanted to come across with their wedding stationery.
The reverse side of the wedding invites featured the finer details of the wedding day itself and an area for the guests names to be written. The RSVP cards were perforated so they could be easily detached from the main wedding invitation ticket.
For the actual wedding day itself the couple wanted to continue the festival wedding theme and have more on the day wedding stationery made for their guests. The first thing they wanted is the thing that any good festival wedding needs which is of course the festival wristbands.
The woven fabric wristbands featured the same colours and text that was used through the rest of the wedding stationery and as you can see in the photos they look fabulous. The wristbands featured a metal ring to hold the wristband in place and this lets the person wearing them easily slide it on and off to tighten or loosen with total ease, and they can take it off when they are finished so they don’t have to cut it off as they don’t need clamped.
The next piece of wedding stationery was the VIP festival lanyard wedding programmes which contained further information for the wedding guests. The lanyards had a space for each guests name to be written and a large VIP at the front so guests would feel extra special at the couples wedding day. The wedding lanyard programmes featured a running order of the wedding day and also what was happening for the rest of the weekend following the wedding, after all this was a festival wedding so of course it has to run at least 3 days 🙂 The lanyards contained all this information for guests so they could know what was happening and where over the course of the wedding festival weekend.
Once the wedding was all done and dusted the final piece of stationery to create for the couple was their wedding thank you cards. Kelly had loved the polaroid style wedding thank you cards that we make here at Wedfest so that is what she wanted for her cards. She sent us a beautiful sunset photo of her and Carl on the beach where the wedding took place and we transformed this into the polaroid thank you cards.
