Picnic in the Park Wedding Invitations and Wedding Stationery

As this is being written it is one year ago exactly since Lucy & Toby got married in Bowral, New South Wales, Australia and Wedfest provided all the wedding stationery for their wedding festival called Picnic in the Park.

This was one of the first weddings we provided wedding stationery for to take place last year so its kind of fitting that its the first thing we post on the website this year 🙂  Happy New Year everyone by the way! We hope you all have an amazing 2016!!

Back to business – Lucy had got in touch with Wedfest telling us they were having a Picnic themed wedding that they wanted to name Picnic in the Park and they wanted to send out some super cool picnic themed wedding invites to announce their big day down under.

Although the couple are from New South Wales, Australia and that is where the wedding was taking place, along side the picnic theme the bride also wanted a London theme for the imagery of the wedding invites and wedding stationery as they lived in London and loved all the parks in London such as Victoria Park, Hyde Park, Clapham Common, Regents Park etc. etc. so London themed wedding invites mixed with picnic themed wedding invites – easy 🙂

So therefore when we were designing the wedding invitation we created the scene of a picnic taking place in a park with the London skyline in the background. In the very foreground you can see the picnic blanket with picnic basket and glasses of wine etc. with people barbecuing and relaxing as they would while having a picnic in the park. in the background is the London skyline featuring iconic symbols such as the millennium dome now known as the 02 Arena, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, The London Eye and other London landmarks. At the very top of the invitation design we designed a Picnic in the Park logo which would then feature on the rest of the couples wedding stationery.

The reverse side of the wedding invitations contained the full information of the wedding and the wedding invitations were accompanied by wedding information cards containing full and detailed information about the wedding including information regarding directions to the wedding venues, accommodation information, wedding gift information, dress code and much more.

For the day of the wedding we designed and made the couple matching wedding place name cards which were displayed on the wedding reception tables and this beautiful London Parks themed wedding table plan with matching wedding table name cards. As previously stated the couple loved all the parks in London so they named their wedding tables after their favourite parks such as Brockwell Park, Green Park, Richmond Park, Hampstead Heath, St. James Park etc.

The design for the wedding table plan followed on from the London picnic themed imagery used in the wedding invitations. For the wedding table plan and wedding day stationery they couple changed the title from Picnic in the Park to The After Party.
