This month Same Sex Marriage became legal in Northern Ireland for the first time, and in the past few days the first Same Sex Marriage took place in N.Ireland. This of course was a huge moment for same sex couples and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole and shows the progress that has been made by getting rid of outdated draconian laws, of which there still are many especially in Northern Ireland. However this was a day of celebration for same sex couples in Northern Ireland and of course around the world. There has been Civil Partnerships available to same sex couples since 2005 but this not recognised as being married in the eyes of the law so it was important for this to change. Here at WedFest we have been catering for Same Sex marriages and providing same sex wedding invitations and same sex wedding stationery for couples since we started and nothing has changed there.
